Meet the team
We're proud of our dedicated team who strive to offer the best service at all times, ensuring our guests have an enjoyable and memorable stay. Every member of staff is crucial to the smooth running of the hotel. There's not room to introduce them all here, but here are some key members of the team.
At the beginning of 2019, Norbert Stump took over the reins from Luis de Oliveira as the Pomme d'Or's General Manager. Norbert now oversees all the hotel's departments, ensuring we deliver our guests the high standards of service the Pomme is renowned for.
Born, raised and educated in his native Germany, Norbert has spent his career sharpening his skills in some of the world's most prestigious hotels and restaurants. From five-star restaurants in South Africa, to the legendary Raffles Hotel in Singapore, Norbert has a level of experience that makes him a prized asset for any hotel.
When Norbert's not greeting guests and passing on his knowledge to the rest of the team, you'll find him spending time with his family and taking long walks on Jersey's beautiful beaches.
Deputy General Manager
Born in Chichester, West Sussex, Anthony moved to Jersey in October 2019 to take the post of Deputy General Manager, bringing with him over ten years’ experience in the hospitality industry and high end private property.
His favourite part of the job is always meeting new people and ensuring that they have a great experience during their stay. In his spare time Anthony is an avid Arsenal fan, and also has a passion for trying new food and drink experiences to fuel his own creative culinary ideas.
Since arriving in Jersey, Anthony has enjoyed discovering all that the island has to offer and describes it as the perfect location to relax and enjoy yourself.
Meetings and Events Manager
Stacey leads our our events team as our Meetings and Events Manager.
Born in Edenvale on the outreaches of Johannesburg, Stacey grew up on the east coast of South Africa in a town called Empangeni. After living and working in hospitality in Scotland, her fondness for the ocean influenced a move to the island seven years ago.
Nothing makes Stacey happier than interacting with our guests and making the best of their holiday. High on her list of recommendations are exploring the historic castles around the island and a visit to Jersey War Tunnels. Of course, with her love of the sea, taking long walks alongside Jersey’s beautiful beaches and coastline is an absolute must!
Guest Services Supervisor
Joseph is our Head Concierge, providing our guests with a range of top-drawer services including making local recommendations and reservations; booking transportation; assisting with luggage; providing courier & parcel services; and organising travel arrangements & tours of local attractions.
Raised and educated in Kenya, Joseph attended one of the country's leading catering colleges before joining the 5 Star Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi. From there he came to Jersey in 2001. He enjoys walking the quiet country lanes and discovering Jersey's natural beauty and serene atmosphere.
For visitors, Joseph thinks Jersey's a winner because of the variety on offer for all generations, from Durrell Wildlife Park to historical sites to watersports.
Front of House Manager
Takis was born in Corfu, Greece and grew up in Sydney, Australia. After completing his diploma in Hotel Management, Takis worked in senior positions for a number of establishments in the UK, including Rudding Park Harrogate and IHG Crowne Plaza.
Since relocating to Jersey to join the Pomme d’Or Hotel as the new Front of House Manager, Takis has enjoyed exploring the island’s many beaches and spending time with his family.
He recommends going on a tour to see as much of the island as possible, and of course not to miss our Seafood Friday buffets at the Harbour Room restaurant, or an opportunity to enjoy the facilities at the Merton Aquadome.
Wali was born in Bangladesh and came to Jersey with his family at a young age. After taking his Culinary Arts Certificate and Diploma at Highlands Collage and Level 3 Food Safety, he began working for many of the larger hotels in the island as a senior chef.
Coming on board as the Head Chef at the Pomme d’Or in September 2019, Wali loves the creativity his role allows him. Outside of work, Wali enjoys spending time with his family.
Describing the Pomme d’Or Hotel as the heart of Jersey, Wali recommends trying out our seafood buffet, held every Friday at the Harbour Room restaurant, as well as our afternoon tea made with mostly local ingredients.
