What's happening in St Helier this October half term

18 Oct 2019

Autumn has made a rather abrupt arrival in St Helier. But we don't let a little drizzle get in the way of having fun. We may be an island best known for our pristine beaches and sunshine, but when the weather doesn't play ball there are still plenty of things to see and do.

During the UK and Jersey school half term, St Helier is a hive of activity that's worthy of a visit on any day of the week. Our team love to spend their days off exploring St Helier's lesser known attractions.

Here are 5 things we recommend doing if you're visiting St Helier this half term.

'A Splash of Colour' Art Exhibition

When
26 October - 3 November
Open 10am - 4 pm

Where
Old Magistrates Court, next to the Town Hall.

'A Splash of Colour' is the latest exhibition by the Jersey Society of Artists. This free art exhibition is a collection of beautiful pieces from some of the island's most talented painters and illustrators.

Entry is free.

St Helier Tennerfest

When
1 October - 11 November

Where
Island-wide

The island's favourite penny-pinching food festival has kicked off with over 30 of St Helier's best loved restaurants, including our very own Harbour Room, taking part. From delicious seafood to vegetarian specialities, this is the perfect opportunity for visitors to sample some of Jersey's finest dishes for less.

Tennerfest set menus start from just £10.

All the participating restaurants and their set menus can be found on the Tennerfest website.

The Elton Show

When
25 & 26 October
Performance time 8pm

Where
Jersey Opera House

A trip to Jersey Opera House is a special way to spend an evening in St Helier. The theatre was originally built in the 19th century and is one of the island's most famous landmarks.

On the weekend of the 25 & 26 of October, The Elton Show will take centre stage. Performed by international singer-songwriter C.J. Marvin, The Elton Show is a celebration of the Rocketman's greatest songs and stage costumes. With his full band, C.J. captures the true essence of Elton's live performance.

Limited tickets are available online here or from the Jersey Opera House box office.

Free Guided Town Walk

When
24 October
10.30 - 12.30

Where
