HAPPY INTERNATIONAL SURFING DAY
To all the sunrise / sunset soul-surfers, body boarders and grommets, after work warriors, the first timers and the ‘ya missed it’ crew – this one’s for you! 🤙
Jersey is blessed to be surrounded by some of the world’s cleanest beaches and oceans; we are beyond fortunate to call it home and our playground.
Its beauty however, demands both respect and conservation. To learn more, check out the inspirational @oceanculturelife exhibition that is on the terrace in honour of #worldoceanday
As one of Britain’s best surf destinations, it’s only natural that Jersey breeds some of the most decorated British surfers and this year Britain’s best will be travelling to our shores as the @cisurfingfederation is co-hosting the 2024 GB Cup alongside @gb.surfing in September. And it’s happening right out front - mark and underline it in your calendars!
Lastly, a huge shout out to all the surf schools and @rnli_lifeguards_jersey for both keeping an eye on us and teaching futures generations the ways of the ocean. We’re in safe hands.

Over two nights this weekend, @balletjersey & friends are transforming our iconic club venue into a semi-immersive performance experience, titled Nova Movando. Along with the wonderful Ballet d’Jerri dancers, there are some insanely talented individuals involved in the production:
〰️ Global choreographer & performer, @yamuna_kyamo is renowned for her innovative Nova Movando method. Trained at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp, her philosophy helps people liberate & explore new movement using existing structures, rather than confining them to traditional boundaries.
〰️ Musical duo @minihimusic consists of percussionists & composers Zands & Louise Anna Duggan, who create vivid soundscapes blending classical music with groove & electronics. Along with a host of impressive collaborations from Thom Yorke to Lady Gaga under their belt, Minihi have composed bespoke pieces for theatre, film & TV.
〰️ Joining Minihi is modern classic composer @thejchakravorty who creates beautiful instrumental music for pianos, analogue/modular synths and string ensembles. Co-founder of @counterchamber , a night of post-classical music in a club setting in Hoxton, Jay is also an in-demand composer for adverts, shorts & feature films.
〰️ Rounding out the band is @caliehough , a versatile Cornish drummer & percussionist with an impressive background in theatre, concerts & touring shows, sharing the stage with artists like Bastille, Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson.

We never doubted them for a minute…😏 @england take on @sefutbol to bring it home for the @euro2024 final. Kick off at 20:00, with five screens to choose from there’s not a bad seat in the house.
@hedgieherridge & friends are on hand to provide the pre-match soundtrack from 14:00 through to sunset, with the after party rolling into the bar for post-match celebrations(?!)
…and the decision to stay on late has never been easier with the bonus bank holiday on the horizon.

To all the sunrise / sunset soul-surfers, body boarders and grommets, after work warriors, the first timers and the ‘ya missed it’ crew – this one’s for you! 🤙
Jersey is blessed to be surrounded by some of the world’s cleanest beaches and oceans; we are beyond fortunate to call it home and our playground.

As one of Britain’s best surf destinations, it’s only natural that Jersey breeds some of the most decorated British surfers and this year Britain’s best will be travelling to our shores as the @cisurfingfederation is co-hosting the 2024 GB Cup alongside @gb.surfing in September. And it’s happening right out front - mark and underline it in your calendars!
Lastly, a huge shout out to all the surf schools and @rnli_lifeguards_jersey for both keeping an eye on us and teaching futures generations the ways of the ocean. We’re in safe hands.
