Each year the collective fans of six proud nations – England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales – share in the passion and excitement of this feast of rugby. Some of the rivalries in this tournament date back more than 140 years, which simply adds to the sense of occasion!
On Saturday 18th March (St Patrick's weekend) Ireland and England will line up against each other at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin to play the final match of the 2017 Six Nations Championship. England battled their way to 21-10 victory over Ireland in the 2016 Championship.
FACT: Ireland and England have contested a total of 131 rugby test matches since their first meeting in 1875. England have won 76 of those matches, whilst Ireland have won 47 matches. There have been 8 drawn matches between the two teams.
