Enjoy lunch at the Pomme before taking to the skies!

11 Sep 2017

Every year, thousands of islanders and visitors gather along the sea wall at Victoria Avenue to watch the breathtaking feats of aviation performed at Jersey's annual International Air Display.

For more than 50 years, the air display has enthralled huge crowds gathered in St Aubin's Bay with displays of military and civilian aircraft that rival the world's most famous air shows.

From the famous Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - featuring a vintage Lancaster bomber accompanied by superb examples of the fighter planes that would have protected it in action, the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricance - to helicopter and fighter jet display teams, every year the crowds gathered in the bay leave exhilarated and enthused.

Be prepared!

With thousands of people gathering for the display and Victoria Avenue closed to traffic, attending the display can be a logistical challenge, so it's worth making sure you're within walking distance of Victoria Avenue in good time for the start of the display at 1300hrs on Thursday 14th September.

Positioned on the Esplanade, just opposite Liberation Square, the Café Bar at the Pomme d'Or Hotel is the perfect place to prepare for the air display. Why not enjoy a tasty, early lunch before making the short stroll to Victoria Avenue where you'll have the perfect view of the afternoon's action?

You can enjoy a light meal such as our delicious salads or tasty seafood specials, or perhaps something a little different, like our beetroot burger.

Whatever your taste, the CaféBar has a fabulous menu that will satisfy every appetite whilst also being perfect preparation for an afternoon of watching the action in the skies.
