The best ways to cool off at The Merton

The best ways to cool off at The Merton

25 July 2019

Wow! What a start to the holidays and The Merton's summer season.

Record-breaking temperatures, beautiful sunshine and lots of smiling, happy guests arriving each day. It doesn't get much better.

The sun really has put its hat on during the last month, and with the warm temperatures comes the inevitable question: "What's the best way to cool off?"

Well, fear not because we have plenty of ideas for guests looking for a quick cool down.

Ice cold cocktails in the lobby bar

If you've had enough sun for one day, pull up a chair in The Lobby Bar before dinner and order yourself an ice cold cocktail or mocktail, and something soft for little ones.

Our bar staff are well trained in the art of shaking 'n' stirring, but be warned: it's hard to stop at just one.

Grab a shady spot on Bonetti's terrace

Bonetti's terrace is a great place to shelter from the sun whilst enjoying the finer things in life. There's plenty of shade courtesy of the gardens, trees and umbrellas. All you need to do is order a refreshing salad from the menu and perhaps a cold glass of vino.

Hit the Flowrider

As nice as it is dreaming about delicious food and drink all day, we thought we'd better include some exercise in your plans! On the Flowrider™ you can get a full body workout without breaking a sweat.

Our guests can experience the thrill of surfing, whatever the wind and weather conditions. The FlowRider™ allows anyone to ride a wave without fear - no wind, no tides, just fun!

Head to Havre des Pas Lido

This one isn't officially 'at The Merton', but just a 10 minute stroll down the road is Havre des Pas Lido. This beautifully constructed salt water lido is an absolute hoot in summer, with plenty of things to jump in off, as well as a nice café and sunbathing area for the adults.

The Lido is lifeguarded during summer, so whilst the kids let off some steam, you can take that relaxing dip you've been dreaming of.
