Warm up after a winter walk at Greenhills
A stroll through Jersey's picturesque countryside is a wonderful way to spend a crisp winter day. From the rugged cliff paths that stretch across the north coast to leaf-strewn country lanes, Jersey has a walk for everyone's taste and fitness level.
Walking remains the best way to see parts of the island that aren't in the guide books and, as the days grow shorter, there are few better cures for the winter blues than a stroll in the countryside.
Perfectly situated for walkers
Greenhills is located in the heart of rural Jersey, overlooking St Peter's Valley at the top of Mont de l'Ecole. We are perfectly situated at the beginning, end and midpoint of several great walking routes. Here are a couple of ideas to inspire you...
A gentle stroll
Starting at Greenhills, take a leisurely wander through St Lawrence's quiet lanes, admiring the beautiful old farmhouses including Morel Farm, built in 1666 and now owned by the National Trust. There's a whole network of narrow lanes, so you can make your stroll as long or as short as you wish, before heading back to Greenhills to warm up with refreshments.
A scenic hike
If you're feeling fit, then set off from St Helier and walk the footpath along the length of St Aubin's Bay, before cutting inland and taking a network of woodland paths up St Peter's valley, all the way to Greenhills. From Jersey's busy town to Greenhills bucolic charm, having hardly set a foot on a road - now that's something to celebrate with fine food & drink!
Refreshed & revived
Our elegant restaurant and bar staff will offer you a warm welcome when you stop in for a drink and a light bite to keep you going during your trek. As the temperature drops, you'll enjoy the cosy warmth of our lounge and open wood fire where food is served from 7:30am to 9:00pm.
Our light bites menu offers a variety of dishes, from tapas to afternoon tea, and from homemade burgers to freshly steamed moules. There really is something for everyone, and we promise that our portions offer plenty to revive you, or keep you going on the walk ahead!Back to News >
