Celebrate Jersey's rural past at La Fais'sie d'Cidre

04 Oct 2017

La Faîs’sie d’Cidre brings the whole island together in a celebration of the apple harvest and centuries old cider making traditions.

La Fais'sie is a unique Jersey experience that offers something for everyone. From demonstrations of apple crushing using Hamptonne's own granite cider press and a team of wonderful horses, to live music, entertainers, creative activities, dance, competitions, Genuine Jersey stalls and great food, there's lots to do, all sorts of things to learn, people to meet and fun to be had!

Walk into the past

Being just a 30 minute stroll from Greenhills, La Fais'sie d'Cidre offers the perfect destination for a walk after enjoying a fine weekend lunch, particularly as it's Tennerfest season again!

As you wander through the lanes of St Lawrence past several centuries old granite farmhouses - including the National Trust for Jersey's Morel Farm - it's impossible not to imagine what life would have been like back then, when horses did the work of cars and water was pulled from a well or used directly from the stream at designated points - lavoirs for washing and abreuvoirs for drinking water.

La Fais'sie d'Cidre is a true Jersey festival that brings the community together in celebration of how we once lived. If you're staying at Greenhills, we strongly recommend a visit. We guarantee that you'll learn and you'll laugh!
