Here's a tip - Les Landes racing is a winner!

19 Jul 2017

There are very few race courses so impressively situated as Les Landes racecourse in St Ouen.

Perched on top of the Jersey's wild coastal cliffs in the shadow of the ruins of Grosnez Castle, and with impressive views of the neighbouring islands of Guernsey, Sark and Herm, the race course at Les Landes has a character all of its own.

With only a handful of race days each year, thousands of islanders and visitors make the journey to Jersey's far north-west for a brilliant afternoon of horse racing action. This Sunday's extravaganza includes the Jersey Derby, one of the calendar's most prestigious races.

Racing for all

Whether you're a horse racing aficionado or would just like to see it for the first time, racing at Les Landes is wonderfully informal and enormous fun. The race card is packed with exciting races and there's a drinks tent, plenty of on-course bookmakers and a tote, to make sure you've ample opportunity to place your bets.

The afternoon starts around 1pm and continues to just past 5pm - a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends. If this is your first racing meet, there's a great page of tips on the Jersey Race Club website to help you make the most of the afternoon and pre-book your tickets before race day.

Celebrate in style

After a thrilling afternoon, indulge with your winnings or forget your misfortunes by dining the night away at the Greenhills. Whatever your spirit, our summer dinner menu and drinks will raise a smile and a glass to a day well spent at Les Landes.
