Jersey Heritage Breaks

From Neolithic tombs to medieval castles, from award -winning museums to evocative reminders of the Jersey Occupation - this break offers the opportunity to enter the Jersey time tunnel. In an Island that is only 9 miles long by 5 miles wide there is an amazing range of historical sites that bring alive the Island’s extremely varied and at times volatile history. Included in the price of your break is a Jersey Heritage pass that provides entry into three of their sites. For example you can explore majestic Mont Orgueil. Built in the thirteenth century to protect the island against the French, this dramatic castle towers over the harbour at Gorey.

This jewel in Jersey’s crown is one of the best preserved castles in Britain and one of the most photographed sites in the island.

Also included is entry to the Jersey War Tunnels. A complex of tunnels excavated between October 1941 and January 1944 by the occupying German forces using forced and slave labour. Since the 1960s it has been sensitively restored as the definitive museum of the German Occupation of Jersey in a unique setting.

Finally, as part of your Heritage Break you can join a special guided walk led by Seymour’s Hotels’ own Blue Badge Guide, Pete Webb. In just over 2 hours, Pete will take you around some of the sites that were of particular relevance during the Island’s history.

Available between April and October 2008 - arrive on a Friday or Monday.
