For parents with young children, planning a family holiday can be a stressful affair. How long a flight will the kids endure? Will the hotel have adequate facilities to entertain them? What can we do each day that will appeal to the little ones?

For many families, Jersey provides the perfect option. With low-cost flights of less than 1 hour from many parts of the UK the trip to the island is relatively stress-free. Then when you reach the island, you will find the whole island is very family-friendly.

There are many attractions specifically designed to keep both younger and older children happy, from the hugely popular Durrell zoo to the challenging Amaizin’ maze there are many places to visit. Then, of course, there are numerous award-winning golden sandy beaches to enjoy.

Car nad bicycle hire is great value and it is worthwhile hiring one for a few days to explore the island.

Family holiday with the Seymour Hotel Group

For many years now, the Merton Hotel has been recognised as the best family hotel in The Channel Islands.

Many features of the hotel have been specifically designed with children in mind. The unique Aquadome leisure pool features an 80 metre water slide plus numerous other facilities.

Then there are the special children’s clubs, and the Kids Zone which provides a programme of entertainment each evening during the summer.

For infants there is a crèche facility which allows parents to have a few hours break to enjoy dinner each evening. In July & August the hotel also operates a special club for teenagers with their own programme of activities.There is also a range of accommodation available for families, including family rooms and suites that can accommodate up to 6 people.

The Merton Hotel is also the only hotel in the UK with it’s own resident blue badge guide, Pete Webb. Pete organises a series of family walks each week including a beach safari.
